Top Shelf Margarita

It is important, when making a top-qualty margarita, to sqeeze fresh lemon and lime juice as opposed to using a bottle of sweet and sour. That said, in a mixing glass add ice, 2 ounces of patron tequila (or any other of the 50+ top shelf tequilas), 3 ounces of fresh sweet and sour, and .5 ounces of triple-sec. Shake then pour into a bucket glass with a salted rim. Garnish with lime slices.

Maui Margarita
From the beaches of Maui: in a mixing glass add ice, 1.25 ounces of gold teguila, .75 ounces of Grand Marnier, .5 ounces of pineapple juice, 1.5 ounces of sweet & sour, shake a pour into a bucket ot pint glass, garnish with lime and an unbrella to complete the "Maui-ness" of it all.

Santiago Margarita
This comes from a little bar on a little alley in the big city of Santiago, Chile. In a mixing glass add ice, 2 ounces of Herradura tequila, .75 ounces of Cointreau, 1.5 ounces sweet & sour, shake well and strain into a martini glass that has a salted rim. Add lime wedge.
The Jamaican Margarita

Who says a margarita has to have tequila? well... it does, but here's a nice change of pace. In a mixing glass add ice, 2 ounces of Myers's Rum, .5 ounces of triple sec, 1.5 ounces sweet & sour, shake and pour into a nucket glass. Add lime garnish.

Giggling Margarita
Who knows where this one came from, but it does taste rather good. In a mixing glass add ice, 1.5 ounces of tequila, .5 ounces of Di Saronno Amaretto, .5 ounces of blue curacao, 2 ounces sweet & sour add shake. Pour into a sugar rimmed glass and garnish with pineapple slices.

Wine Spectator's #1 Wine in 1999
Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County Cinq Cépages 1996 / 95 / $28
CALIFORNIA
The rise of the 1996 Chateau St. Jean Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County Cinq Cépages to our Wine of the Year won't surprise those who've tasted this remarkably rich and polished wine as it has evolved. With its uncommon depth, ripe, juicy flavors and plush, velvety texture, Cing Cépages won votes and admiration from our editors for its quality (a 95-point rating on the Wine Spectator 100-point scale), its $28 price and its availability.

Wine Spectator's #1 Wine in 2001
TENUTA DELL'ORNELLAIA Bolgheri Superiore Ornellaia 1998
Ornellaia embodies the modern renaissance of Italian wines. This Cabernet blend from the coastal region of Bolgheri is pathbreaking in its origin, contemporary in its winemaking, international in its varietal blend, and thoroughly Tuscan in its soul. Given the brilliant quality of the 1998 Ornellaia, it's hard to know if the luster of this great red can possibly shine more brightly. 13,330 cases made.
